- Students
in their respective schools must create movies with a teacher, advisor,
and/or administrator as a sponsor.
- Work
by students must be done during school or as an after school sponsored
club or event. This is not a homework or at-home project.

work (storyboarding & editing) must be done in calendar year 2010.
- Students
may enter only one (1) movie per category. Students may enter as individuals,
but are encouraged to enter as teams.
- Movies
must be submitted as either QuickTime files or Windows Media Player
files. NO DVDs WILL BE ACCEPTED!! It is suggested that the school
keep a master copy on file. Winners will be required to provide the
movie in its original format upon request. If there are any questions
regarding the format, please contact CSD. Please burn movies to a CD and mail in.
- Movies
must be no longer than two (2) minutes in length. Title of
the film and credits does not have to be included in the two minutes.
- CSD
will disqualify any entry deemed inappropriate. Movies must be "family"
or "G" rated.
- The
following forms must be completed and sent by December 13, 2010: (1)
Entry Form, (2) Student
Reflection Sheet; (3) Student
Checklist; (4) Teacher Checklist;
(5) Movie Summary
Sheet and (6) Media Release
Form. In addition, students must send their completed storyboard
for the video, unless the assignment is such that no storyboard was
required (for example, news stories where time is a factor in production.)
There is no required format for the storyboard, but here is a sample
storyboard that you can use.
- The
following forms should be kept at the school and submitted to the contest
committee upon request: (1) Signed
Image and Release forms for everyone in the movie and (2) Appropriate
permission from any copyrighted work (music, logo, prints, etc). In
the event that the committee requests these forms, lack of proper documentation
may disqualify an entry.
- In
submitting a movie, the contestants give Cooperating School Districts
the right to publish the movie in part or in whole in any medium without
additional compensation.
- Entries
will not be returned.
- Winners
must be willing to share their movie at the Midwest Education Technology
Conference in St. Louis on February 15, 2011 at the St. Charles Convention
Center.
- Decision
of the judges is final.
