Following an absence from school, a student must come to the office for an admit slip to enter class. An admit slip must be presented to each teacher throughout the day.
When a student is absent, a parent should call the school BY 10:00 a.m. (937-4750). If we do not receive a call, we will attempt to contact parents at home or their place of business. All absences from school will require verification through either a written note or a phone call from the parent or guardian explaining the reason(s) for the absence. Failure to verify an absence will result in an unexcused absence. All absences are handled on an individual basis.
Absences due to a need to leave town or for medical reasons may be excused if:
1. School is notified by the parents in advance.
2. Written verification from a doctor.

Any excused absence entitles the student the opportunity to make up work missed. It is the responsibility of the student to contact each of his/her teachers to make the necessary arrangements to complete the work missed. Teachers will allow missed assignments to be made up in a reasonable period of time - one day for each day missed. An "F" grade will be recorded for each assignment not turned in within the specified time.
If your child is absent for 3 days due to medical reasons, you may call the office before noon and request homework. The work may be picked up between 3:00 and 4:00 p.m.
