As an accredited A+ School, Festus R-6 students may qualify for state-paid tuition and fees* (read below) for TWO YEARS to any Missouri public community college or approved post-secondary vocational/technical school. The two years must be completed within four years after graduation. The financial incentives will come from the State of Missouri, not from the Festus R-6 School District.

To be eligible for these incentives, students and parents must be aware of and understand the criteria listed below which must be met by the student.

1. Must enter into a written A+ Participation Agreement and attend Festus High School during the three years prior to graduation.

2. Graduate from Festus High School with a grade point average of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

3. Have at least a 95% attendance record all four years of high school.

4. Perform 50 hours of unpaid tutoring. Twenty hours must be performed before start of senior year.

5. Maintain a record of good citizenship and avoidance of unlawful use of drugs. The signatures below give Festus High School A+ representatives permission to examine and evaluate the cumulative disciplinary record of the student.

6. Realize that tuition reimbursement will be made available only after the student has made a good faith effort to secure all available federal post-secondary student financial assistance funds that do not require repayment.

7. After graduation, maintain eligibility during a four-year period by enrolling and attending on a full time basis for TWO YEARS, a Missouri public community college or approved post-secondary vocational/technical school; and maintain a grade point average of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 point scale.

* The cost of tuition and general fees is subject to annual legislative appropriation from the Missouri General Assembly. Money for books was not appropriated for the 2006-2007 school year.
