Highlights

§  Teacher Professional Development/Workdays at beginning of year are set for a Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.  Friday is a non-workday for teachers.  This also allows for an open house to not be held the night prior to the start of school. 

§  First Day of School is on a Monday and allows a ‘later’ than normal start.  This makes a LONG week and differs from our previous 1st day being a Thursday. 

§  Parent Teacher Conferences are stretched over 4 evenings.  However, each building will announce their own specific evening hours.  The main goal is for teachers to schedule 7 hours outside of normal school hours to allow for the entire day of Friday, October 23, 2009 to be a paid non-attendance day. 

§  Wednesday prior to Thanksgiving will once again be a non-attendance day for staff and students.

§  Tuesday, 12/22/09 will conclude the first semester and be a ˝ day.  This allows a 12.5 day break.
