Introduction

 

“You have just been elected the President of the United States of America!” How would you feel if someone told you that? Have you ever wished you were a president? Or what it might be like to be the president of the United States? 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

                                                  

 

 

 

 

 

Task

 

On your journey in this Webquest you will investigate what it takes to become the president of the United States. You will find out what your job requires you to do. While we are on this great journey we will stop and look at past presidents. We will compare and contrast their lives, accomplishments, and we will use a word processing program to complete your research.  You will work with a partner to complete this webquest, you will practice your cooperation skills as well.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

PROCESS

 

 

  1. Print out the copies of the President Research Sheet. 

 

  1. To find out how presidents become leaders, click here.  Record your findings on the research sheet.

 

  1. You must choose one presidents from this worksheet.  Write their name on the research sheet.

 

  1. Read about your president on one of the following 2 sites. Use whitehouse.gov or aboutfamouspeople.com.  Record your new information on the research sheet by making a timeline of important events in your presidents’ lives on the back of your research paper.  Each partner will examine one president and complete their fact sheet about their chosen president. Once you finish your fact sheet and Research Sheet you may visit this president fun fact page.

 

  1. Print out two copies of a Venn diagram.  Complete the Venn diagram to compare/contrast the lives of the president.

 

  1. Using Microsoft word type a paragraph that explains all of the information that you learned by completing this Webquest.  This will be your final draft, which you will present to your class.

 

  1. Insert at least one piece of clipart into your word processing file.  Make sure that you choose a piece of clip art that matches your president.

 

  1. Print your final paper.
