The agenda for our first meeting will be both a look
back and a look forward. Please come ready to share any updates,
information, findings, revelations etc. you may have from summer
conferences, workshops, summer work in district etc. This will be
an informal sharing and reconnecting time with colleagues. Then we
will spend some time talking about where we want the ETA to go this
year - What topics, ideas, membership, format, speakers, etc. do you feel will be
most purposeful and useful to the group? Your voice is important.

Deb Sutton from DESE joins us to bring us up to speed on the 8th Grade Literacy Component of the State's Ed Tech Plan. SPOTLIGHT DISTRICT: ROCKWOOD
We will explore the question, “What technology environment best supports teaching and learning?” Be a part of a panel discussion on: i) Internet Filtering (Why can’t teachers use any Internet resources they find appropriate?, How do we protect teachers from themselves?, How does your district encourage/enable the use Web 2.0 tools?), ii) Admin Rights (How can districts maintain the integrity of their network resources while minimizing restrictions on teachers?) and iii) Acceptable Use Policies (How consistently do teachers and administrators in your district adhere to your AUP?, Does your AUP support 21st century learning and teaching?).

Please bring a technology integration success story to share with the group that illustrates how effective technology integration is taking place in your classroom. Be specific, including referencing any technology resources (hardware, software, web sites, etc.)

Representatives from eInstruction, Promethean and Smart Technologies will be on hand to demonstrate their products and to discuss how this technology holds so much promise for raising the bar on assessment and individualized instruction in the classroom!

Southwest Baptist University (Master of Science in Education, Instructional Technology Leadership),
University of Missouri @ Columbia (Master in Information Sciences and Technology (educational technology) and
Webster University (M.A.T. in Educational Technology).
