Maps to Preconference Workshops |
Join us for METC 2008 and share how technology empowers you and your students in the classroom, library / media center, school and district office, or network infrastructure! We anticipate 1000 participants from the Midwest attending METC 2008 representing technology specialists, teachers, librarians, administrators, instructional technology teacher, counselors and information technology / network specialists. In the 21st century classroom, technology is a learning tool that empowers student learning as they question, think and achieve higher while teachers adapt and transform their teaching practices to use technology for complex learning and thinking tools. We want creative, talented and enthusiastic professionals to share how they harness the power of technology to change their teaching and the students' learning process. METC 2008 program committee has established two goals. One, design a program based on strands that encompass technology in all aspects of education – classroom, library / media center, school / district offices and network infrastructure. Two, offer a program that fits into educators’ individual learning plans and aligns with high quality professional development. To reach these goals, METC 2008 invites teachers, media specialists, administrators, technical support and other education-minded people who have effective instructional technology programs and management strategies to share their best practices, knowledge, expertise, methods, plans and successes with other K-12 educators by presenting a workshop or presentation. Strands & Levels of Presentations
Preference of presenters will be given to those submitting proposals related to the program theme, “21st Century Classroom – Harnessing the Power of Technology!” or one of the program strands. While presentations may address several of these strands, please indicate the primary strand that best describes your proposal.
