David Warlick
Education Consultant, The Landmark Project

David Warlick, a 30 year educator, has been a classroom teacher, district administrator, and staff consultant. For the past ten years, he has operated The Landmark Project, a consulting, and innovations firm. His web site, Landmarks for Schools, serves some of the most popular teacher tools available on the Net.  What makes David a highly effective and sought-after speaker is that, at heart, he is a teacher with a contagious passion and enthusiasm for helping people discover a brand new world of teaching and learning.

David will also conduct a preconference workshop on Monday and two breakout sessions on Tuesday.

Rem Jackson is President of Top Practices, LLC and a founder of Classroom Connect. An entertaining and informative presenter, Rem speaks to thousands of educators every year on Internet-related topics at national and regional conferences. He pioneered the Classroom Connect Seminar Series and developed the "Becoming an Internet Trainer" seminar. Rem is delighted to be able to work directly with educators and students to bring the classroom into the global community.

Rem will also present breakout sessions on Wednesday.

Dr. Larry BuchananLarry M. Buchanan
Larry M. Buchanan, Ed.D., has served as Superintendent of the Grant Joint Union High School District since 1999. Dr. Buchanan has worked with community agencies and businesses to build an educational vision in which schools stand at the core of a community. Buchanan has received regional and statewide Superintendent of the Year awards from the Association of California School Administrators (ACSA), received the Tech-Savvy Superintendents of the Year Award from eSchool News and has guest lectured at Oxford University and Victoria, Canada roundtables. Recently recognized for his work in school finance, organizational leadership, and in building a new model for instructional delivery for the 21st Century, Dr. Buchanan speaks of his vision for education and the potential for school systems to not only affect the quality of our students’ lives but to act as a mechanism of community support and a driver of our nation’s economic future.

Mike ButlerMike Butler
Currently a Senior IT Research Analyst, Professional Development Manager at the University of Missouri-St. Louis, Michael Butler has more than 10 years experience helping schools successfully integrate technology into their classrooms. A nationally recognized presenter with a refreshing style and strength as a group facilitator, he is a member of the Classroom Connect conference faculty. He has recently been selected as an esteemed member and featured speaker of the Brewer Technology and Learning Center’s highly regarded faculty of professional development lecturers. Additionally, Mike is President of the Butler Consulting Group, which focuses on providing consultative services in the area of educational technology, including web site design, hosting, graphic design and training.

Mike conducts a preconference workshop on Monday, February 4.

Steve DemboSteve Dembo
Steve Dembo began his educational career as a kindergarten teacher. After spending four years in the classroom, he began serving as the school's Director of Technology. Steve joined Discovery as Online Community Manager for the Discovery Educator Network, is a pioneer in the field of educational podcasting. His blog and podcast, Teach42, have served as the inspiration for hundreds educators. He is passionate about education and works with teachers around the globe in their efforts to explore and integrate new technologies in the classroom.

Steve presents sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Gail LovelyGail Lovely
Gail Lovely is a former classroom teacher in grades K-8 and has held positions in staff development and technology in the classroom. Her company, Lovely and Associates, was founded to help educators integrate technology and curriculum through excellent staff development and support. Gail loves to teach and continues to do so by sharing her vision for the active classroom, the improvement of the relationship between teacher, learner and curriculum and by hosting professional development seminars.

Gail conducts a preconference workshop on Monday, Feb 4 and breakout sessions on Tuesday, Feb 5.

Dan SchmitDan Schmit
Dan Schmit is an author, professional developer and an Instructional Technology Specialist with the College of Education and Human Sciences at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. His background includes classroom teaching in elementary, middle level, secondary and college classrooms. Dan is an Apple Distinguished Educator and a frequent presenter and clinician at state, national, and international instructional technology conferences and workshops. His work has focused on making learning experiences authentic and constructive through the use of technology. He has published two books, GarageBand Mechanics and KidCast: Podcasting in the Classroom as resources for teachers who are using podcasting and composition to inspire creativity, research, expression and community. Dan's podcast and resources are available at www.intelligenic.com.

Christine Tomasino
Christine Tomasino is a former classroom teacher and administrator. As a developer of efriendlylearning.com, she is a professional consultant and trainer for technology and learning in education. Christine’s passion is working with administrators and teachers to design and support student learning activities with technology. Her sessions provide educators with practical ideas in differentiating instruction, connecting effective technology use to student learning, classroom assessment and accountability for learning, and curriculum development aligned to standards. Currently working with 1:1 technology projects in Illinois, Christine helps educators design meaningful student learning activities with today’s digital tools to increase achievement.

Christine conducts a preconference workshop on Monday, Feb 4 and breakout sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday, Feb 5 & 6.

Joyce ValenzaJoyce Valenza
Joyce Valenza has been the librarian at Springfield Township High School (PA) since 1998. Joyce is also an author, columnist, Milken Educator and an American Memory Fellow. She received an AASL/Highsmith Research Grant to support her research in virtual libraries in 2005. Her Virtual Library won the IASL School Library Web Page of the Year Award for 2001 and her blog won the Edublog Award for 2005. Joyce's library earned the Pennsylvania Individual School Library Program of the Year Award in 2005. She is active in ALA, AASL, YALSA, and ISTE and contributes regularly to Classroom Connect, VOYA, Learning and Leading with Technology, and School Library Journal. Joyce speaks regularly about issues relating to libraries and thoughtful use of educational technology. Joyce recently earned her Ph.D. in information science from the University of North Texas.
