The Regional Professional Development Center, in concert with Cooperating School Districts staff developers, designs and facilitates training sessions for teachers, administrators, and other school support personnel in a variety of areas. It also identifies a cadre of consultants that can provide technical assistance to school districts on a wide variety of needs, and develops cooperative projects with educational institutions and agencies to develop programs and practices which support and enhance the role of educators in supporting children, youth, and family.

The RPDC Advisory Council has identified the following as primary targets for the support of professional development.

• Promoting research based instructional strategies

• Developing leadership at all levels.

• Closing the achievement gap

• Data driven instruction

• Reflective practices
